In addition to the main campus in Auburn, (Androscoggin County) Central Maine Community College also serves the educational needs of Franklin, Lincoln, and Oxford Counties.

In Oxford County, the College offer courses at the Western Maine University and Community College Center in South Paris.  Courses are also offered at other sites in Oxford County such as Telstar High School and Region 9 in Rumford.   In Lincoln County, we deliver courses at the CMCC/Lincoln County Healthcare Education Center in Damariscotta.  The College offers courses at several locations in Franklin County including the Foster Technical Center, Mt. Abram High School, the Adult Learning Center in Farmington, and Franklin Memorial Hospital.

Many students appreciate the convenience, small classes, and close proximity of these sites before completing their degree at our Auburn campus or transferring to another college or university.  We offer live, onsite courses ranging from College Writing to Early Childhood Education, College Algebra to Public Speaking, and Biology to Developmental Psychology.

The Maine Community College System (MCCS) is committed to addressing the workforce and educational challenges confronting rural parts of the state. To that end, MCCS President John Fitzsimmons has announced a series of recommendations and a major financial investment in programs aimed at addressing these needs. These include the following:

  • Creation of an endowment fund to provide scholarships each year to community college students from rural Maine

  • A pilot program to provide financial assistance to help cover rural students’ child care costs

  • New technology to increase distance learning opportunities for rural Maine residents

  • Increasing rural high school students’ access to the community colleges through an expansion of the MCCS “On Course for College” program.

*More information on these initiatives can be found at www.mccs.me.edu.
