Staff Person of the Year Award 2009

Betsy Libby

Much has been asked of Betsy Libby during her relatively short tenure with CMCC, and so very much has been delivered! Hired in December, 2006 as Director of Admissions, Betsy was asked to assume the position of Acting Dean of Student Services in the summer of 2008 for the duration of Dean Randall Lee’s military deployment. She has assumed this role in addition to continuing to serve as Director of Admissions.

Under Betsy’s leadership, CMCC has experienced significant growth in enrollment, the addition of a new residence hall, new athletic programs and student organizations. She recently developed a new approach to student orientation that has resulted in a series of “registration days” that will better meet the needs of incoming students. She serves as advisor to the Student Senate, and even finds time to teach Public Speaking.

Her co-workers describe Betsy as a team player and inspirational leader. For all she has done for the students of CMCC, Betsy Libby has been honored as the Staff Person of the Year for 2009.

Faculty Member of the Year Award 2009
Anne Schuettinger

Anne has been a devoted and hard-working member of the CMCC faculty for 21years. As chair of the nursing program, Anne has worked tirelessly to ensure the program always maintains the highest standards.

Under Anne's guidance this past year, the College was able to expand the Nursing Program to Damariscotta in Lincoln County. Working with her faculty and staff colleagues here at CMCC and with partners at Lincoln County Healthcare, Anne was able to bring her experience and expertise to this enormous task. Largely as a result of her efforts, we now have eight nursing students completing their first year of study in Damariscotta, with their own simulation lab, and also connected to the main campus via video teleconferencing.

Anne also led the way last year in developing the new nursing simulation lab here on campus. This state-of-the-art facility enables first-year students to learn nursing care with the latest and finest patient simulators.

In recognition of Anne
Schuettinger’s dedication to the Nursing Program at CMCC, she has been honored with the Faculty Member of the Year Award for 2009.
