Autumn Phlebotomy Course Offered, Starting October 25
The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College will offer Introduction to Phlebotomy on Tuesday evenings October 25 to December 13 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
A combination of lecture, lab and hands-on practical experience, this course develops the skills needed to work in an entry-level position as a phlebotomist. Coursework includes selecting and preparing the skin puncture site, collecting specimens, adhering to proper health and safety guidelines, patient/technician relationships, and proper record keeping of laboratory tests. Upon completion, students may qualify for employment in hospitals, clinics, physicians’ offices and other health care settings.
Registration for this course is open and ongoing but space is limited. The cost is $529.00 and includes book and materials.
