Realtors Award Scholarships to CMCC Students
The Androscoggin Valley Board of Realtors (AVBOR) awarded scholarships to four students at Central Maine Community College (CMCC) at a recent breakfast meeting hosted by the organization. Pictured left to right are CMCC Dean of Planning & Public Affairs Roger Philippon; scholarship recipients Fanie Wabwende, Spencer Robinson, Adam Sawyer, and Therese Turmel; and AVBOR President Kelly Pitman. A student in the Precision Machining Technology program, Spencer Robinson has earned President’s Honors, the highest honors at the College. A resident of Mechanic Falls, Spencer will be pursue an advanced certificate in machining at CMCC after he completes his associate’s degree in May. Adam Sawyer of Greene has earned high honors in the Network Security/Computer Forensics Program. After CMCC, he plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security at the University of Maine Augusta. Therese Turmel of Lewiston is an honors student in the General Studies Program. She hopes to continue her education as a secondary education major at the University of Maine at Farmington. A resident of Auburn, Fanie Wabwende has earned high honors in the Life Sciences program at CMCC. After she graduates from CMCC, Fanie plans to transfer to the University of New England to pursue a graduate degree in Pharmacy.
