Come join the RSU #14 Facilities Team at Windham Raymond School District!

There are two district wide positions open. Candidates must be able to work independently, communicate effectively, set priorities, have a strong mechanical aptitude, and understand soil and turf maintenance and care. The shift is a 40 hour a week position eligible for overtime when necessary and hours are generally during the day although flexibility to work some evenings, nights, holidays and weekends is a must. During the winter months the position is responsible for snow removal and hours are shifted based on the demands of the storm. The position will also have some on call time.

Candidates must hold a valid Maine Driver’s License and have a clean driving record.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

1. Participate in year-round grounds maintenance of the District’s schools and buildings.

2. Follow schedule for grounds upkeep, maintenance and grounds projects in collaboration with the Grounds Coordinator.

3. Familiarity with preparing fields for specific events. Examples: football, soccer, girls lacrosse, boys lacrosse, field hockey, baseball/softball. Set-up and break down of above events.

4. Knowledge of baseball/softball clay work of mounds and home plate areas. Managing moisture of skinned areas, proper raking, dragging, lining of baseball/softball fields.

5. Familiarity with zero turn mowers, gators, reel mowers, mid size tractors, Echo weed eaters and other small equipment.

6. Perform basic preventive maintenance on grounds equipment.

7. Familiarity with computers, programs such as Excel, Google Sheets, Word and Google Docs.

8. Familiarity with Google Calendar (electronic calendar).

9. Familiarity with clearing snow from sidewalks (mid size tractors w/6’ snowblower), using a one ton plow truck with a v-plow, salting roadway with one ton polycaster, salting sidewalks with a gator and fast caster spreader.

10. Familiarity with Hunter Irrigation Systems, irrigation heads & solenoids.
